"This is an option to find the static status of the system,
then use it as the initial condition."

The purpose of 'Static Analysis' option in Dynamic analysis dialog box is before performing Dynamic Analysis, RecurDyn finds the static status of the system, then conducting Dynamic analysis using the static status as the initial condition.

As below model, usually, the initial condition is changed from the modeling position because of the gravity or other constraints.
So, RecurDyn finds the initial condition and runs dynamic analysis.

Video example

You can see the difference between the normal dynamic analysis and dynamic analysis using 'Static Analysis' option.

Another usage

Another usage is, in the case of Car model, if the initial position of the car is apart from the ground, it may land on the ground during the initial calculation. If this is a very big model, it can spend calculation resources.

By using this option, RecurDyn can find the initial position on the ground. (also usually initial status of the suspension and others change, too.) Then Dynamic analysis is performed from that position.

For some models, the parameters of the static analysis also need to be adjusted. So, it is recommended to perform static analysis alone before running dynamic analysis with this option.
